Or you could explore some of the places in the UK that get just too busy in the summer. Here are a couple of ideas for Christmas Breaks in England. Port Isaac. Well this has to be about one of the most famous coastal areas in the UK at the moment. Its popularity mainly due to the fact that the Doc Martin TV Series is filmed there and everyone has fallen in love with the quaint town of Port Wenn (really Port Isaac) and its quirky folk. In real life of course Martin Clunes does not live there and the local inhabitants are quite sane, but dont let that put you off although you wont be swimming in the sea at Christmas nearly all retaurants, pubs and cafes are all open as usual. Rather than paying £650+ per week to hire a camper van this summer I’ve persuaded a mate, who was also separately planning to hire a camper van for a week or two, that we should invest in one! … So I’m on the look out for a Hymer 5 berth motorhome (which really means 2 berth) and my budget is £6000.
