I'm at Warwick Services (M40, Stratford-on-Avon)
To get home from Stratford upon Avon on Sunday will mean two trains, a bus and 4 hours. I'm never leaving zone 2 again after this.
A really astute summation of the situation Steve. And frankly it has some like me wondering if we're even likely to get back to pre-recessionary levels of luxe spending. The aspirational customer in many cases was the most highly leveraged and unless we foresee another massive credit run-up happening any time soon, these consumers may be sidelined for a while.
If anything, we may be back to a more historic norm where true luxury goods are reserved for the truly rich.
