You know all the old codgers and mountian men in all those TV shows and movies…? Remember the jokes about taking a yearly bath? Now I know why. You've got to really want to be clean to do that everyday…!
Cold tap water here is about 40` so it was bracing! There was still enough room temp water in the tank to temper it a bit, but still… The student who was baptized on sunday was immersed in a hose-filled Rubbermaid stock tank in 50` rainy weather outside at the pastor's house / site of the “new” church (they are renovating an old bus garage). Needless to say, a few of the people baptiszed got out of there pretty quick!
Yup, we have a shower, and interestingly enough, there are water and sewer hook-ups at the school. They have a family who keeps an RV there over the summer to kind of keep an eye on things. So, of course it was not realy convenient for us to make use of that – we would have had to hook up and back the trailer up to the spot, because it was right up against the building where they had their motor home parked. We could have filled our fresh water tank with a hose, but getting rid of the drainwater daily would have been tricky. It was much easier to go into the school (where the Hanson's and some of the kids were sleeping) – until they shut off the heat and hot water that is!
