arasto i totally agree with your view in this post however you have, on occasion, written posts making references to peoples homosexuality when they have never come out as gay (last week there was a post on anderson cooper and johnathon rhys meyers) so yeah my point is, as its such a personal thing, i hope you continue to show the respect you have shown in this post for people's sexuality.
Hi – I just want to say this website is like a dream come true. I am fascinated by the whole feminism/cooking thing and nearly blew a gasket at the recent Jan Moir article on feminism and home cooking. I have linked to your blog from mine
I am particularly interested in feasts/festivals as I love exploring different traditions and cultures through food and am intrigued by the role of women in the food aspects of these key events – it seems most cultural or religous festivals have a food element to them somewhere. I also love the labour aspect of food provision – both in the home and in external food production.
My work life also has a food link – but through health – I head up a charity called Diabetes UK Scotland and if there is one thing Scotland has it is a food/health crisis and the overlap with equality issues, particularly poverty and women's roles and status within the family and work, is huge and constantly amazes me.
So your blog is right up my street and will be reading avidly!
