Dear Ron,

I was camping in Scotland when I got bitten by ticks, 12 of them. There was no rash whatsoever, and the flu-like syptoms took nearly a month before they appeared. The ticks were Ixodes ricinus, the most common vector for borreliosis in Europe. Nothing to do with deer. In Europe it's sheep ticks that are carrying borreliosis, and no one has ruled out transmission from midges, mosquitos and horse flies. Also, bird ticks are carrying various infections and they are dropped everywhere, and are probably the main means of the spread of thew whole epidemic.
All of those biting insects have been discovered and proved to be infected with borrelia sopirochaetes, it's just not been proved that they can pass them on in their bites, not yet.

When I began being tested for illnesses, back in 1985 and through 1986, my GP had ignored the tick bites anyway, but in 1989 an ID consultant did send my blood for testing. It was negative. In 2003 however, I was able to have an American test which showed a very high count of the borrelia in my blood, plus a microscopy test where the spirochaetes are visible. 19 years of not knowing I had Lyme – and has it done me any good knowing?. Here I am over 4 years later and I've only been able to shake one or two of the symptoms off. I am so infected that it's going to take years to get better, if ever, and the NHS won't pay for the antibiotics and supplements I need. So there's no kudos in having Lyme disease, only repeated pain from the herxheimer-like reactions as each layer of bugs is killed off.

Please try and realise something…which disease is the most covered-up and controversial and hard to treat or get recognised in the world? ME. The same goes for Lyme. Exactly the same. Lurkers in chat rooms, spies on forums, all the same, sent there to confuse and antagonise the groups to stop them organising. Divide and rule has really worked in the ME world, and the same in the Lyme world.

Lyme symptoms are variable from one person to another, and also from one year to another in the same person. Mine have become more like a mixture of MS and fibromyalgia over the years.

Which country has the world's highest incidence of MS. Scotland.
And Scotland has had Lyme as a notifiable disease for ages now.

Anyway, I wish you luck fighting the ME, I've still got an encephalitis (mild but chronic and debilitating) and myalgia and loads of mild neuro symptoms, but the terrible vertigo went after a year of antibiotics, and the cystitis/irritable bladder after another year. Slow progress but I will keep fighting.

I began with Samento, a herbal immune-booster, no need for a prescripotion. if you try it, and get a reaction after a few days, you have an infection.
Sorry to keep on .

All the best wishes to you,
Denise

I hope Cory and Josh don't call my beautiful 21 FOOT Dolphin MOTOR HOME, a 17 ft. camper in front of my beautiful 21 ft. Dolphin motor home. It would be very upset, and probably immediately break down if either of you step inside again.
I’m really intrigued and excited to find out how you got out of that terrible situation out in the middle of nowhere 50 miles from nowhere. I’ll be excitedly waiting for the next episode. —- ——— Great mixing Josh.

Glad to see you back Tammy! Looks like you had some fun on your blogging break. Glad to hear that. Sounds like the home buying is going good!

I do have one suggestion though. If that T.V. is too hard to move, please don't leave it at your current home. Hire someone to take it apart for you and ship it to me. This T.V. of yours sounds AWESOME! LOL

We love your new blog. It's exciting to see the tranformation occuring in you both. Keep up the good work!

Jeff and I discovered something new in exercise this spring called the TRX. Its an exercise strap w/handles that allows you to get a full body workout in about 30 minutes. Its hard to describe but is very efficient. It enabled us to start working out together which has been great. The problem for me has been muscle soreness in my back and shoulders. I plan to begin adding a stretching routine to my day to see if this helps.

If anyone wants to see what the TRX is they can view it at http://www.fitnessanywhere.com.

Without doubt the worst England shirt in my lifetime (and i'm 40!). It is a polo shirt with an umbro badge and an England badge. If that took more than 5 minutes to design then i'd be amazed.
Get down to Sports Direct where the old white shirt is £3.99 quickly, before they sell out!

Umbro, you have made the least appealing England shirt ever. Congratulations on messing up your licence to print money big time!

Honestly, how many children are going to want to wear that? Please do not do the same with the away shirt…..

Can a CIO be Successful Without IT Experience.

After reading the comments on the original post and having several Twitter-based discussions, I followed it up with this post on CIO.com: CIO Background Check: IT Experience Mandatory?
